Biography

Josefina Pieres is a film and theatre director and writer based in Miami, originally from Buenos Aires. Trained as an actress and holding a degree in Filmmaking from the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), her work is defined by its narrative sensitivity, actor-centered approach, and exploration of emotional truth through physical performance.
Her documentary “Cuando la primavera se escapa, se libera del sueño” premiered at BAFICI, where it received the award for Best Editing. Her short film “Two Tears” marks her debut in narrative filmmaking and will have its World Premiere at the Miami Film Festival and West Premiere at LALIFF.
She has directed theatre, film, advertising, and music videos, and has established herself as a celebrity commercial director, working with talents such as Shakira, Bad Bunny, and Rob Gronkowski. Her commercial work includes campaigns for international brands such as PepsiCo, FIFA, Mercado Libre, Epson, Garnier, UHC, Costa, and Changan, as well as interview series for Vanity Fair and Meta.
Josefina is the founder of Simbios Art Corp and Women in Theatre, initiatives dedicated to fostering artistic collaboration and female leadership in South Florida. Her work bridges cinematic storytelling and live performance, creating spaces where emotion, movement, and narrative converge.
