Laura is a filmmaker who has worked on a diverse range of feature films, music videos, educational videos, and documentaries. The feature film "Harvest of Redemption" which she co-wrote and co-produced with her law school colleague Javier Chapa for $25k, won the "Best Foreign Feature" award at the International Family Film Festival in Hollywood and was distributed nationwide in the U.S. as well as in Mexico. "Harvest" was inspired by the touching true story of a Latino migrant farm worker family, and an unpunished murder that they must not only face but learn to let go. Laura recently completed production on her feature directorial debut "The Place in Between," due to be released in 2023. This dark comedy takes an up close and revealing glimpse into the complexities that evolve when a daughter meets her estranged mother for the first time, as they embark on a road trip to spread the ashes of a loved one. She directed the documentary "American Orange" (due to be released in 2024), which chronicles the toxic poisoning of four generations in a small Texas town, which is home to "the most contaminated man on the planet," and also (coincidentally) contributes to the 200+ tons of citrus sourced to the rest of the U.S.

Laura thrives on straddling both the creative and business components of filmmaking, by combining her practical film experience with the strategic approach instilled by earning her law degree. She has been a screenplay judge for Final Draft's Big Break Script Competition, The American Screenwriter's Association International Screenplay Competition, and Scenarios USA's "What's The Real Deal" Screenplay Contest.
