Evette Betancourt is an award-winning producer and screenwriter specializing in grounded and franchise-ready genre stories. She grew up with a single mom and was the first to graduate college out of 22 brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews, transcending financial and cultural barriers. As a result, her content contains social commentary and strong multi-layered female characters. She graduated from Chapman University with a degree in screenwriting and was the last intern at the dissolved San Diego Film Commission. She also volunteers at the San Diego Asian Film Festival and San Diego Latino Festival and on student projects from San Diego State University and local community colleges.
